At the end of last year I was informed that the cloud service I used for my Run Chicago app would be shutting down, so obviously I was confronted with having to implementing a new service. As what happens when you open a project you build a while ago you realize that so much has changed both with the current technology as well as your current skills. In short I found myself pretty much rebuilding the entire app from the ground up. This time it was written in Swift with significantly less code, yet structured in a way that will allow for easier editing in the future. I did a significant amount of research into which online service to go with eventually settling on Apples Cloudkit. The end result is a more stable, usable and expandable version of my Run Chicago App, you can get it in the app store.
